Cookie policy
What this site stores in your browser, why, and what changes if you consent to analytics and advertising.
Some formal details — our registered entity particulars and the courts named for disputes — are being finalised. This policy applies as written in the meantime; email support@cybernanban.com for a signed copy.
1. The short version
The CN-CAISE funnel sets no cookies of its own. The only cookies you may meet here belong to Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, and they are set only if you allow analytics in the notice.
It uses your browser's local and session storage to hold your progress, so you can close a tab and come back to a half-finished assessment. That storage never leaves your device unless you submit the form it belongs to.
Google Tag Manager loads on every page. Until you answer the notice it is running under Google's Consent Mode with every storage permission denied: it sets nothing, reads nothing, and cannot recognise you between visits or between sites. The Meta Pixel receives nothing at all until you allow advertising.
Refusing costs you nothing. The assessment, your result, registration and payment all work exactly the same.
2. Cookies and browser storage are not the same thing
A cookie is sent to a server with every request you make. Local and session storage stay in the browser and are only read by the page's own code.
We rely on storage rather than cookies because the funnel does its work in your browser: the check scores itself, your readiness result is worked out locally, and nothing is transmitted until you press a button. That is a privacy improvement, not a technicality.
3. What we store, and why
Every key the funnel writes is listed here, and no others. The first three carry your progress through the funnel and are strictly necessary for it to work, which is why they need no consent. The last three exist because of the cookie notice itself.
| Key | Where | What it is for | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
cn_caise_assessment | sessionStorage | Your Career Readiness answers, saved as you go so a reload or a dropped connection does not cost you the check. Your name, email and phone are never written here. | Until you close the tab, after 30 minutes without activity, or as soon as your answers are submitted — whichever comes first. It is never written to long-term storage on your device. |
cn_caise_funnel | sessionStorage | Carries your answers, and the name, email and phone you type on the registration step, from one screen of the funnel to the next. | Until you close the tab, and cleared as soon as a payment succeeds. It is never written to long-term storage on your device. |
cn_caise_outbox | sessionStorage | Anything we could not send to our servers yet, held so nothing you entered is lost while you are still in the funnel. | Until it is delivered, you close the tab, or a payment succeeds. |
cn_consent | localStorage | Your answer to the cookie notice — which of analytics and advertising you allowed. Storing it is the only way to avoid asking you again on every page, and it is what lets one answer cover both this funnel and the main cybernanban.com site. | Six months, then we ask again. Choosing "Cookie settings" in the footer clears it and brings the notice back. |
cn_attribution | sessionStorage, and localStorage only if you allow analytics | Which advert or link first brought you here — the campaign tags on the address you arrived at, and the site that referred you. It tells us which advertising is worth paying for. It holds no name, email address or phone number, and nothing you typed. | Until you close the tab, if you have not allowed analytics. If you have, ninety days from your first visit, so that a campaign still gets credit when you come back a week later to enrol. |
cn_analytics_fired | sessionStorage | A short list of which milestones have already been counted this visit, so that reloading the payment success page does not record your purchase twice. Event names only. | Until you close the tab. |
Only two of these can outlive the tab you are reading this in: your consent decision, which has to survive so that you are not asked again on every page, and — if and only if you allow analytics — which advert first brought you here. Everything to do with your assessment and your registration is discarded when the tab closes, after 30 minutes of inactivity, or as soon as a payment succeeds, whichever comes first.
Assessment responses stored in your browser expire automatically after approximately 30 minutes. You can also clear site data for cybernanban.com in your browser settings to remove locally stored responses at any time.
4. Analytics and advertising
These are the vendors we use, and the only ones. All of them are loaded through a single Google Tag Manager container — we do not install vendor scripts individually.
| Who | Why | What they get | Where | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 | Loading our measurement tags, and understanding how the funnel is used | Pseudonymous usage events and the campaign that referred you. No name or phone number; the email domain only, never the address | United States and elsewhere | Only with your consent |
| Microsoft Clarity | Understanding how each screen is used — anonymised session replays and heatmaps | Pseudonymous interaction data: scrolling, clicks and taps, and the size of your screen. Anything you type is masked in the browser before it is sent. Sets its own cookies only if you allow analytics | United States and elsewhere | Only with your consent |
| Meta Pixel | Measuring and targeting advertising | Pseudonymous usage events. Receives nothing at all without advertising consent | United States and elsewhere | Only with your consent |
They receive pseudonymous event data: that somebody reached the offer page, that a registration completed, which band a readiness result fell into. Microsoft Clarity also records how a screen was used — where you scrolled, clicked or tapped — as an anonymised replay and heatmap, with anything you type masked in your browser before it is sent. They never receive your name, email address or phone number from us. Your email DOMAIN — the part after the @ — is sent with a completed registration, so that we can tell a corporate learner from an individual one. It identifies nobody.
Which advert or link first brought you here is sent with those events too, if you have allowed analytics. That is the whole reason the data is worth collecting: it is how we know which advertising pays for itself.
Google Tag Manager itself loads on every page, before you have answered anything. It runs under Google's Consent Mode v2 with ad storage, analytics storage, ad personalisation and ad user data all set to DENIED until you say otherwise. In that state it stores nothing on your device and cannot recognise you between visits. We tell you this rather than describing it as "nothing loads", because a request to Google is still made and you are entitled to know that.
5. Giving and withdrawing consent
The notice appears on your first visit and asks before anything is allowed to store or identify. Accepting and refusing are one click each, side by side — refusing is not buried behind a settings panel.
You can change your mind at any time from "Cookie settings" in the footer of every page. Withdrawing analytics consent also deletes the record of which advert brought you here.
Your answer is remembered for six months and covers both this funnel and the main cybernanban.com site, because they are the same website. After six months we ask again.
You can also block third-party storage in your browser settings, or use a tracker blocker. The funnel is built to work fully without any of it — the assessment, your result, registration and payment do not depend on analytics.
We honour Global Privacy Control and "Do Not Track" signals as a refusal of the optional vendors, and we do not show you the notice if your browser has already refused on your behalf.
6. Other cookies you might meet
Our payment provider sets its own cookies on its own payment page, which is necessary to take a payment securely. That page is theirs, not ours, and their notice applies while you are on it.
The learner portal at https://portal.cybernanban.com sets one essential session cookie once you log in. It keeps you signed in and does nothing else.
